On–Campus
Recruiting “No Show” Policy
The following policy applies to all
students and alumni who participate in On–Campus Recruiting (OCR). Please note that the term “student”
refers to any student or alumnus who participates in On–Campus Recruiting, regardless of their enrollment
status at KSU.
The “No Show” Policy applies:
- when a student does not appear for a scheduled interview
- when a student cancels an interview after the “Cancel Interview” period ends
- when a student fails to either sign up for or decline an interview for which they have been preselected
No changes may be made to any interview schedules after 8:00 a.m. two business days before
the first day of the employer’s interviews. “No Show” offenses are cumulative
throughout a student’s enrollment at Kennesaw and beyond. Students who experience a medical
or family emergency that causes a “No Show” should notify Robin Knight in the Career Services
Center by phone (770‑423‑6555) as soon as possible. Documentation of the emergency
will be required to waive any penalty.
OCR Interview “No Show” Policy:
1st Offense: Excluded from all On–Campus Recruiting activities, including any interviews already scheduled.
Students must make an appointment to see Robin Knight within 7 business days
of the missed interview. A letter of apology addressed to the interviewer and an addressed, stamped,
unsealed envelope must be brought to the appointment. Failure to comply with these requirements
within the stated period will result in total and permanent exclusion from future On–Campus Recruiting
activities. Please note that failing to sign up for an interview you have been chosen for is counted
the same as a “No Show” since you are taking an opportunity from another.
2nd Offense: Banned from all On–Campus Recruiting activities.
Why so harsh? It might not seem such a sin, but not showing for an interview is perhaps the most
disruptive thing you can do because not only are you hurting your own prospects (recruiters talk to
one another), but you are robbing a fellow student of a much sought after interview. Also, if
“No Shows” persist, recruiters will not return to campus, thus permanently affecting future Kennesaw State
students seeking employment through OCR. So, please be considerate of your fellow students
and cancel your interview well before the deadline if you can’t make it.
